Margaritaville at Sea just expanded its casino players club

I spotted a Cruise Industry News item from September 3 saying Margaritaville at Sea rolled out expanded Casino Players Club benefits, bookable now for sailings starting October 1. The part that jumped out at me was the offer-match angle: they say players with offers from another cruise line or a land casino can submit those for consideration instead of starting from zero. I know Margaritaville is not everybody’s usual lane here, but this feels like the kind of move that could get more casino-focused cruisers to at least price them out. My take: anything that makes it easier to test a new line without doing a full reset is interesting. Anyone here actually played in their casino yet, or tried an offer match with them? I’d be curious how the onboard vibe compares with the bigger lines.

I haven't played Margaritaville yet, but the offer-match piece would at least get me to look, especially for a short sailing out of Florida. Gene and I have learned the first trip on a new line is really about seeing if the casino feels comfortable, if the machines are decent, and whether the hosts seem organized. I’d just remind folks to treat any match as a maybe until it’s actually confirmed in writing, since these things can be awfully line-specific. If anyone tries it, I’d love to hear whether their video poker selection is any good or if it’s mostly slots.

That kind of match program is smart if they execute it cleanly. From a casino nerd angle, the thing I’d want to know is what they’re matching to: upfront freeplay/discounted cabin, or just dropping you into a certain tier once onboard. Those are very different animals. I haven’t played Margaritaville yet, but on other lines I’ve seen “match” mean anything from a real teaser offer to basically a courtesy review with no meaningful value attached.
