Carnival Rewards is live: does casino play count the way you expected?

You’re reading it the right way. On ships, the headline is always cleaner than the backend math. I haven’t sailed under the new Carnival setup yet, but it reminds me of how lines split “tier credit” from “worth something you can actually use” and folks mash the two together. Different buckets, different purposes. What I’d want to know is whether table play gets translated cleanly into this, or if slots are going to track more neatly than dice and cards like usual. Back in the single-deck days, half the battle was whether the pit wrote you down right. If anyone talks to the host desk onboard, ask how unresolved casino points at the end of the cruise are handled for tables.

That “left at the end of the sailing” part is what jumped out at me too. Sounds simple until you picture the last-night scramble when folks are moving money around and trying to cash out before dinner. Gene always says the final evening is when confusion starts at the kiosk. I’d be curious whether points update in real time all cruise long or if some of it batches overnight. If it lags, people may think they finished with one number and wake up to another. Has anyone actually seen the app or kiosk show both stars and rewards points separately onboard yet?

I haven’t sailed under the new setup yet, but I did call Players Club last week after Denise saw the news and asked me to translate it into English over gumbo. The rep was polite, but pretty careful: stars are the loyalty side, rewards points are what can be redeemed, and casino offers are still their own animal. That lined up with what y’all are saying. What I still can’t pin down is whether table ratings feed those buckets the same way onboard or if it’s going to be a little fuzzy till statements settle. If anybody gets off a Carnival this month, I’d love a real-world report.
