Royal’s double-points promo caught my eye, but casino folks are excluded

Just read over on Royal Caribbean Blog that Royal is running a Crown & Anchor double-points promo on new bookings made July 21-31 for select sailings from September 1, 2026 through April 30, 2027. The part that jumped out at me was the fine print: it does not combine with complimentary cruises or casino offers. That feels like one of those very modern cruise-line wrinkles. Back in the day, loyalty and casino play lived in neighboring towns and at least waved at each other. Now the lines get more segmented every year. I’m curious how folks here look at that. If you’re a casino regular with Royal, does a promo like this matter at all, or is it basically background noise because your bookings usually come through casino channels? And for the mixed players who book some on offer and some retail, does this change anything for how you plan sailings?

For me it’s mostly background noise unless I was already planning a retail booking. Royal has gotten pretty clean about keeping the buckets separate: casino offer, interline, resident, loyalty promo, etc. Sometimes you can stack a little, usually you can’t, and the answer is buried three clicks deep in the terms. The practical question I’d ask is whether double C&A points is actually worth more

I mostly file promos like that under “nice if I was already paying cash.” If I’m sailing Royal on a casino offer, the double-points thing doesn’t really enter the picture. Where it gets interesting for me is a friend trip or a holiday sailing when I care more about the date than the casino side. Then I’ll at least look at retail promos, because higher C&A status can matter around the edges onboard
