How the Carnival Players Club Works: Points, Perks, and Rewards

How Carnival Players Club works: earning Casino Points on slots, video poker, and tables, the perks they unlock, and the link to Carnival Rewards.

By Adult Arcades Editors • 5 min read

Carnival Players Club is the casino rewards program on Carnival Cruise Line ships. It tracks your casino play and turns it into points and perks. This guide explains how it works, using only Carnival's own published pages.

Casino programs change often, so treat this as a starting point. Always check Carnival's current terms on its website before you book or sail.

Who can join and what it costs

Carnival says joining the Players Club is free, and it lists the cost as included. Carnival allows guests 18 and older to join and earn points on its ships. Adult Arcades content is written for readers who are 21 or older. Carnival also notes that past casino guests may already be members without knowing it.

How your play gets tracked

Your Sail & Sign card is the key to the whole program. Carnival asks you to keep the card inserted while you play the slots. At a table game, you present the same card to the dealer. Once aboard, Carnival suggests talking with a casino host for more details.

How Casino Points are earned

Carnival publishes three earning rules on its Players Club page:

  • **Slot machines:** 1 Casino Point for every $2 of coin-in.
  • **Video poker:** 1 Casino Point for every $5 of coin-in.
  • **Table games:** points depend on the game, your average bet, and how long you play.

Coin-in means the total amount you wager, not the amount you lose. Replaying the same $20 several times counts as coin-in each time. That is why points can build quickly, and why spending can build quickly too. For more on how casinos value play, see What People Mean by Theoretical Loss.

What the points can unlock

Carnival says that earning more points brings you more benefits over time. The examples it names on its own pages include:

  • **Drinks On Us:** complimentary drinks while you play in the casino, once you earn the benefit.
  • **Events and tournaments:** invitations to exclusive Players Club events and casino tournaments.
  • **Room offers:** access to deals on discounted or free rooms, excluding taxes, fees, and port expenses.
  • **Casino sailings:** invitations to Premier, Ultra, and Elite Cruises for qualifying players.

The Players Club pages we reviewed do not list a chart that converts points into specific offers. Carnival says casino cruise invitations are sent to your inbox when you qualify. That means offers can differ widely from one player to the next. You must be 21 or older to drink alcohol on Carnival ships. Carnival also says state laws, including in Texas and New York, can delay Drinks On Us after embarkation.

How Players Club connects to Carnival Rewards

Carnival Rewards is the cruise line's broader loyalty program, with terms that apply from September 1, 2026. Casino play now counts toward it in two separate ways:

  • **Carnival Rewards Points:** you earn 1 point for each Casino Point left at the end of your cruise.
  • **Status Qualifying Stars:** you earn 1 star for each Casino Point earned, even if you redeemed some.

Carnival's terms include a simple example of how this works. A guest earns 1,000 Casino Points and redeems 400 of them for free casino play. At the end of the voyage, that guest receives 600 Rewards Points and 1,000 stars. Carnival says points and stars are credited about 14 days after the cruise ends.

Carnival Rewards status starts at Red when you sign up for the program. Gold requires 10,000 stars, Platinum requires 50,000, and Diamond requires 100,000 or more. Stars are counted over a two-year earning window, then reset to zero. The status you reach is kept for the following two-year enjoyment window. Rewards Points stay active as long as you earn or redeem points at least once every three years.

A responsible way to think about it

Points and perks are a thank-you for play you were already planning to do. They are not a good reason to play longer or to raise your bets. Every casino game carries a house edge, and no program guarantees a win, an offer, or a free cruise. Set a budget before you board and treat it as the cost of entertainment. If gambling stops feeling like fun, support is available any time you need it. In the United States, the National Problem Gambling Helpline is 1-800-MY-RESET. The National Council on Problem Gambling also lists help and treatment resources online.
